We have a client who currently run a heavily customised ECM site on iMIS 15.0.3. They wish to upgrade to version 15.1.3, but don't wish to lose any of their ECM customisations. Is it possible to keep their 15.0.3 environment whilst still upgrading the database application to 15.1.3? Alternatively, can these customisations be safely applied after an upgrade? I'd be interested to see if anyone else has been through something similar.
ECM Compatibility
Agreed
On December 20th, 2010 Bruce Wilson says:
Agreed. The customizations could be reapplied.
eContentManager hasn't been undergoing as many changes lately as WCM and iMIS, though there are a few important ones. You'll probably find that the customizations can be reapplied without much fanfare, though the files you modified may be different in ways that don't directly affect your customization.

What you would want to do
On December 20th, 2010 jjohn says:
What you would want to do is upgrade eCM/e-Series to the latest version so it will match back office.
I would not suggest running
I would not suggest running on different versions, but the customizations could be re-applied after the upgrade. I can't say I've tried it but we will be doing similar upgrades in 2011.
