Event fee's based on companies involvement in a program

We're in the midst of setting up a new system with iMIS 15 and I have question in regards to modifying event fees based on a companies involvement in our programs.

From what I understand the Events module allows for us to modify an individuals fees based on their involvement in certain programs, but what we would like to do is modify an entire companies fees based on their organization's involvement in programs that we offer.

Can this be done without too much complication?

If anyone has done this successfully, I would love to hear from you.

Member type them

Hi Stavros.

I think you would be best served with a separate member type for these people/companies.

This would enable you to match a fee class to member_type. It seems that your criteria has to be human assessed anyway so a separate member type would provide ability to use special fee class for them.

Member type... maybe

You *could* use MEMBER_TYPE, but that often gets messy.  If you have 4 different programs they can be involved in, you'd need 16 member types to tell all the combinations of in/not-in in order to offer the right prices to the right people.

Registrant Class is usually the best way to map people to a price structure.  Some parts of iMIS are able to process custom instructions for choosing a registrant class.  Others can call a stored procedure to adjust pricing right before reaching the checkout.  If you're using a part of iMIS that doesn't naturally have one of these hooks, you may be able to customize it in other ways.  In the worst case, you can just allow registrants to choose their own registrant class and then audit the results if you want to make sure people are being honest.

Some cases aren't worth automating.  For example. it may be better to have Board members call your office or have a staff member register them in advance rather than investing many hours of developing and testing just to assign a particular price to 15 people.
