IMIS 15 Public view

We are currently using the iMIS 15 public website and are experiencing bad performance. Upon viewing the source it was noticed that the system calls +/- 31 stylesheets on each page.

We have updated the styles and themes as much as possible so that the site looks in line with the Clients CI but because of all these stylesheet calls the site is extremely slow and unresponsive at times.

We have done some .Net integration into the iMIS database and these pages are almost instantanious...

We have looked through the master pages, themes and skin pages but believe these stylesheets are built into an ASI component and we are unable to change this.

Has anyone else who has worked on iMIS 15 Public seen the same problem or has any suggstions how to address this.

Noticed pages are being loaded more than once.

In addition to multiple style sheets, I have noticed that there are a few pages that load more than one time. I am unable to trace this issue up to this point and have submitted a ticket to ASI.

Pages that are loading more than once are..
HTMLDisplay.aspx
Default.aspx
+ our custom style sheet.

Something interesting about the pages that are being loaded is that their URL parameters are different. Specifically,
HTMLDisplay.aspx?Section=Students

Any news on a well developed iMIS public from ASI

Hi Carol,

Does ASI have any plans to release a proper, well developed imis public site as the current one is extremely slow and is coded quite badly? Or should we look at redeveloping our own?

public site

We made numerous changes to the site in 15.0.3 to improve speed and reduce the number of style sheets. I'd prefer to see you enter in changes you want rather than build your own, so everyone benefits.

New version

The new version wont meet our needs and is too rigid and with the new version of eCM months away we will probably build our own solution. Because there is no way to fix or change elements on the ASI iMIS public this further pushes us to look for alternate avenues / solutions.

I think ASI should release the source of iMIS public so that the community can really benefit from it and grow the system for all, similarly to most other open source collaborative projects. This allows the community to really embrace the web technology solution.

Building your own solution

I dont know if anything we have done would be useful, however, you may like to take a look at our Web Services for iMIS which is pretty comprehensive as an alternative API that works in conjunction with iBO.Net and we also have some standard forms templates for events, billing and profile that can be supplied with source code if needed to create alternatives to the I15 Public user inteface that enable good site integration with ASP .NET or PHP.

Most likely no

When looking at the code for that page. It seems that the input fields are hardcoded. I do not think there is a way to change them, outside of recreating the page.

event fields

For Event registrations, the fields you see are what is available. The fields you listed are not options. You have more flexibility with adding or changing a contact.

If you login as a sys.admin, go to the system setup tab and drill into setup web compents and then choose personal labels, you can make sure you have the contact fields you want.

If this is important to you, post an RSE to Tech Support
