iPARTS for multiinstance tables on web

I am looking for someone who has some knowledge on how to show multi=instance tables on the public view.  Apparently it needs iPARTS to work.

So if you are the GURU -- can you please let me know the following:

1.  What do we need to do this

2.  How can this be setup ?

3.  Has anyone been able to get activity tables to work in Public view?

I am hoping to find someone who knows all this as I have been told its available and other are demoing and using it.

MI tables in iParts

I may not be an expert, but I am implementing features like you describe for another client currently.

Among other things, we're using iParts to create:

  • A panel for editing one instance from an MI table.
  • A page which displays a list of key values from a MI table, and displays a link for each instance that links to the page above.
  • A panel for showing multiple (filtered) instances from an MI table, and editing one instance (probably in an AJAX popup) or adding another.
  • A generic add-or-edit-Activity page which emulates the back-office iMIS features.
  • A generic add-or-edit-Relationships page.

Some of these were created based on the example iParts Dmitry uploaded to this site.  You will probably have to ask for access to that area if you don't have it already.

Just to make sure you have the right understanding, creating an iPart is a programming task, involving C#, ASP.NET and Web Parts.  It's not a module that you can just turn on and choose the options you want.

iPARTs for MI tables

I am having a problem using a MI iPart in that when you click edit you have one long line of text boxes which also align themselves underneath some other page elements an also go off the side of the screen. I note you mention a panel for editing one instance of an MI table would that also apply to Inserting too?

My PM suggested popping some feedback up here for Demitry but it was hard to know where to start that feedback really. Any ideas on these problems whilst still using the public UDT iPart.

Editing in a grid

The simplest fix is to upgrade to 15.1.2.  ASI upgraded to the latest telerik controls, which include the ability to pop up a stacked-field edit form (prompt on the left, input field on the right) when you add or edit a row from the grid.
