Mass email feature in WCM

Hi,

We are redeveloping a new WCM site in 15.2.5.XXXX for existing client who had an eSeries site (10.6.XX).

Back in eSeries days, the committee can perform a search based on certain filters and can also hit 'Email Members' buton on top right to perform a mass email operation only for the results returned.

I'm wondering if this 'Mass email' feature can be achieved in a WCM site (15.2.5.XXXX)?

Thanks,

Vig

Community Announcement

We've had a few clients ask for this in the past, and I have had a hard look for functionality like this, but unfortunately I have not been able to find any.

The only thing that is close, that I could find, is sending and Announcement out to subscribers of a community.

If there is a way to send out an email to the contacts in an IQA query for example, I would love to hear about it.

Have you had a look at the

Have you had a look at the 'Email Merge' feature in the document system? Tools->Document System->New->Email Merge
This allows you to send emails based on an IQA query. You can also plug in fields from your query into the body of the email.

More information can be found here (Refer to section 'To define an email merge output process for email notifications'):

Known defect

Hi Leo,

Thanks for the update. I tried the email merge as per imis docs with a test query using simple BO's and when I run the process, it came up with the following error:-

-------------

Exception message: A potentially dangerous Request.Form value was detected from the client (ctl00$TemplateBody$PEPortfolio1$PEController1$ctl00$ctl02$txtTemplate="<p>Email template fo...").

------------

I took this with ASI and they are reporting this as a know defect and advised me to check to see if there were any foregin caracters in \iMIS_Public\Core\web.config file and I didnt find any.

Is this something failiar to you?

Thanks,

Vig

Sorry. I was aware of this

Sorry. I was aware of this feature but have not really used it much.
You might have to wait for tech support to get back to you on this one.
