(Email First, Then Fax, Then Print Labels)
At some point in time you may have wanted to use iVIEW to communicate with a group of members returned by an iView Query. There is a great hidden feature in iView called the Method tab. This tab allows you set rules about how you wish to communicate with the members in the result set.
To help keep costs down you may wish to email first, then fax, then finally print labels for all remaining members. Using the method feature iView will actually go through your results set and email the people with email then look at the remaining members and fax then interact with you fax program to fax those members with fax number and finally produce a label report of anyone without an email or fax.
The following steps detail how to use this feature:
Step 1. Run your iView Query to return your results which must contain the Email, Fax and Address fields since we are going use them in our communication. > Click on Communicate Button.
Step 2. A Message dialogue box will open where you can enter Subject and the body of your message.
Step 3. You can use iMIS database fields in here as well to personalize your communication. E.g. Dear {FIRST_NAME}, …..
Step 4. Once you have created your communication you may add any attachments you wish to send through the attachments tab.
Step 5. Click on the Method Tab where we will start setting up your communication rules.
Step 6. There are a number of options here but for this example use “Use First”
1. EMAIL
2. FAX
3. POSTLABEL
Select your email format and iVIEW label report.
Step 6. Click ok and you will be presented with a summary of how your communication will go out. Click Ok again to complete you communication and create the activities in iMIS.
