Publishing from URL to domain name creates an error

I went to re-name the public site from http://72.167.42.123/iMIS15_PROD to
http://www.RealSite.com/iMIS15_PROD

so we could go LIVE and get the following error when I publish the web site:

Public:Error: Error in line 1 position 124. Expecting element 'Navigation' from namespace 'http://schemas.imis.com/2008/01/DataContracts/Navigation'.. Encountered 'Element' with name 'Content', namespace 'http://schemas.imis.com/2008/01/DataContracts/Content'.
Public:Error: Error while Publishing document Public: Error in line 1 position 124. Expecting element 'Navigation' from namespace 'http://schemas.imis.com/2008/01/DataContracts/Navigation'.. Encountered 'Element' with name 'Content', namespace 'http://schemas.imis.com/2008/01/DataContracts/Content'.

What would cause this?

I ran into several problems

I ran into several problems when I changed the domain name of a website. I republished the website the sitemap and the content. I restarted IIS on all application services and I recycled the application pool. It eventually came up and started working.

Thanks,

Andie

This error now results

This error now results regardless of what URL I enter in the website and it also occurs when I publish the sitemap.

~:Error: Error while Publishing document ~: Error in line 1 position 124. Expecting element 'Navigation' from namespace 'http://schemas.imis.com/2008/01/DataContracts/Navigation'.. Encountered 'Element' with name 'Content', namespace 'http://schemas.imis.com/2008/01/DataContracts/Content'.

Did this get resolved

I realise this thread is probably abandoned.... but i'm getting same issue and not sure how to resolve it.

My issue seems to have occured when I added a new URL for our imis webserver in addition to the URL for the application server in the the "URL(s) pointing to the IIS root" and "Secure URL(s) pointing to the IIS root".

Thanks,

Scott

similar

I've just seen this on 15.2.1 installation - when I publish set the iMIS Web View site to default and publish. The URL setting is http://localhost/imis15/ and I've tried with the servername as well, but get the same results:

iMIS Web View:Error: Error in line 1 position 124. Expecting element 'Navigation' from namespace 'http://schemas.imis.com/2008/01/DataContracts/Navigation'.. Encountered 'Element' with name 'Content', namespace 'http://schemas.imis.com/2008/01/DataContracts/Content'.
Admin:Error: Error while Publishing document Admin: Error in line 1 position 124. Expecting element 'Navigation' from namespace 'http://schemas.imis.com/2008/01/DataContracts/Navigation'.. Encountered 'Element' with name 'Content', namespace 'http://schemas.imis.com/2008/01/DataContracts/Content'.

does anyone have a fix and explanation for this? Thanks

I took a look through old emails

Hi,

Tried to see how we ended up resolving this issue.

From my notes and emails, I can see that I somehow identified the section of our site that was having the problem.

I then blew away that entire section and recreated it in the sitemap.

That seemed to fix the issue for us.

However, we had to give all the pages new names as we couldn't see them in the recycle bin and couldn't purge them.

Hope that helps in some way.

web view

I'm seeing this on the iMIS Web View site, which makes me a little more cautious.

I'm unable to publish the entire sitemap starting at the root (~), but I can publish all of the subsequent navigation items. and I'm unable to publish edits to the iMIS Web View website too (because, that also publishes the sitemap).

What version are you on?

What version are you on - we're on 15.2.1.3282.

client version

This client is on 15.2.1 as well

Your situation is slightly

Your situation is slightly different from ours - I was able to find a section of the sitemap that wouldn't publish. Long and tedious process from memory, but I did find it eventually.

I then had to delete that section and re-create it - however I also had to give each section a slighlty different name as nothing was showing in our recycle bins and we couldn't purge the old content.

Out of interest, do you see anything when navigating to the Recycle Bin in either the "Manage Sitemap" or "Manage Content" sections?

Solution

Was there ever a solution for this published?

I can't publish the site or site map at this point.
