Rapid Gift Entry - want to alter display and selection

In Rapid Gift Entry in 15.0 release our client wants the following - all have been submitted as requests for enhancements via SMR system, but we are seeking any workaround in the meantime.

1. Change the display results under 'Find a Contact' to include other fields such as address line 1, state/province and post code. We found that this is contained in the ContactFinder.aspx page. Any thoughts on adding fields to the display? What level of impact may we see on upgrade? Any way to make this a query like Opportunity Management uses for displays?

2. They do not want customer records to show if their status is anything but Active. Am looking for ideas on how to accomplish this. Or, as Jana the tech support analyst pointed out, at least display they are not active like other iMIS modules.
