Installation

Main Pages will not load after Upgrade to iMIS 15.1.2. 5640

After upgrade I can log in but the that’s as far as I get.  It acts as if it is loading but then the screen remains blank and I get the attached errors:

Using Out of Process Session State with iMIS

I would like to store my session state out of process from IIS, so my session state does not disappear everytime the ASP.NET Worker Process recycles.

However, it seems you are storing non-serializable objects in session state making it impossible to do so.  It also seems like a bad idea to use session state to st

iMIS 15 Separate public views and application server configuration scenario

iMIS version 15.1.2

In the installation documentation there is discussion about one model where the public views is at an external server and the application server and database server are inside the firewall. It is also described that you need to open up ports 1433, 443, and 80. We are having issues on one of our clients. In this scenario do you have to have an SSL certificate on the internal application server? Since the manual indicates that 443 has to be open it would make sense that you need to do that. In addition you would really want all traffic between the public views and the application server going over 443.

iMis 15 Licensing with Multi-Instance

When upgrading multiple co-existing instances to 15.1 does anyone have a good process suggestion for being able to upgrade the databases seeing as how it requires an update to the license? We're using the multi-instance process for the web server but hate to install/uninstall the application on my desktop that many times to go through the upgrade process. If we didn't have to worry about the license we could just use the dbupgrader.exe directly. We are upgrading from 10.6 to 15.1.2 so we do not have the proper licensing to allow the upgrade using dbupgrader.exe without having the new licensing in place first.

15.1.2.4260 db upgrade issue

iMIS Version: 15.1.2.4260

If you run the upgrade process the second time (probably because something went wrong the first time you ran it), most likely, it will fail with the following error:

Violation of PRIMARY KEY constraint 'PK_ComponentRegistryCategory'. Cannot insert duplicate key in object 'dbo.ComponentRegistryCategory'.

The issue is with the following SQL statement in

C:\Program Files\ASI\iMIS15\Net\iMIS15DBUpgrade\ScriptFiles\IMIS154DBUpgrade\CleaningUpNavigationDocuments.sql.

Refreshing View Meta-Data Revisited

Just updating and re-emphasizing a previous blog post about refreshing view metadata (see previous blog post).

Future iMIS Database Upgrades will validate all view metadata by running the script in my previous Blog entry on the subject (reproduced below).  Therefore, it's vitally important that all existing iMIS users run this script against their databases prior to upgrading to the next major version of iMIS in order to avoid errors during the database upgrade.

ERROR applying foreign key constraints

Hi
We are upgrading from imis 10.6.30.7 to 15.1.1.2998 and continue to get the same error when running the install process. The install fails at step 58. See the following error
Validating data for Foreign Key Constraint application...

FK_UserMain_ContactMain cannot be applied because 1 rows do not exist

Step 58 Done.

Deploying iMIS using command line arguments

Has anyone deployed iMIS15.0.3 by setting up some sort of package with command line arguments?
I have a client who would like to use this method, as they have over 80 workstations that they will need to install it on. The pre-configured installer is a bit quicker then a normal install, but still takes some time.

Any ideas?

Application Pools in IIS 7 on 2008 Server

We moved from a windows 2k3 server to a 2k8 server and are having problems.  The install guide taks about changing the app pool to classic .net.  The install creates the iMIS15 and public apps under the default web site in IIS.  We changed the app pool there and all works well.  We then created an appliation called iMIS15 under our web (imis.association.org/imis15).  on the same server.  When we set the app pool on that application to classic .net, we get a version miss match error when trying to open the desktop and errors in the web browser we get a 500.21 error:
