Omit shipping charge for certain products

We are learning to use online store (Order module) and wanted to know if it is possible to omit shipping charges for certain products?

For instance, we are looking to sell pins, books etc and also looking to implement a way to sell memberships as a products but not charge them for shipping if users opt to buy memberships as product.

using System Setup product sort in iQA

I have a client who is utilizing the Set up commerce web components for their product setup (set as featured), category setting and sort. While this is intended to be used for the PublicView store, this information should be writing to the database somewhere to be able to use to sort the iQA query for the ProductDisplayList iPart, should it not? This is found at System Setup > Set up commerce web components > Store home.

cart icons

I've run into an issue with the icons (icon_remove.gif, etc. for view, edit, delete registration as an example) in the cart not showing up on one of our client's servers. In IE, I see the 'missing image' red X box.

We're using the PV functionality (.../Core/cart/mycart.aspx) not iParts and in checking the page source, the src tag is empty (""). I'm using an modified Aspen2 theme and have verified that those icons exist in the App_Theme folder.

Procedure/utility to clear out abandoned shopping carts

Has anyone seen or written a utility (report, stored proc, task centre) that deletes abandoned shopping carts? I know this can be manually managed through System Setup > Set up commerce web components > Cart manager, but my client has a large number of stale shopping carts (>1 year old), making that Cart manager page unmanageably long.

It seems like a common problem that's likely already solved. Or maybe it's in 15.2? (I haven't found any evidence of it, but I could be wrong.)

Credit card logo display

I have been asked by a client to look at display of credit card icons on the checkout page for both

  • e-Series
  • Public Views

I've done some documentation searches and have not found anything helpful.  Am I missing something simple?

Putting Custom Page in Checkout Process

I'm trying to interject a page during the checkout process to collect additional information from the user (language of books, location etc.).   We can't use attributes for all of these. 

Everything works, except when I try to send the user back to the Shipping.aspx or Checkout.aspx, it instead loads the mycart.aspx page, creating an endless loop.

Even if I remove my redirects and just type in the URL the page I want to go to, it sends me back to MyCart.aspx.  This is true even if I've already submitted past this - so anything this page sets is already set.

Order API - 15.1.3 - processing an order via API

We have done some testing and are trying to determine if it is possible to process an order thru the API that results in a complete order in iMIS with full Transactional entery (order, order_lines, Invoice, Trans and Activity) without walking thru the order stages in the desktop.

At this point the only order we can get with the API is a proforma and we are seeing missing DIST lines in Trans.  We are working in 15.1.3 and need to determine if the API can do this as part of the design, if we are calling it correctly or if there is a bug in the version we are working with.

Order Confirmation

Has anyone found a way to send out order confirmations as text instead of emails?

I have asked ASI to add this feature as an enhancement, but wondering if anyone has found a work around?

 

Reverting the Online Shop to Previous Version

Long story short, the online shop for WCM 15.1.3.8125 doesn't display the correct price when doing anonymous browsing for our site (let me know if you have the same issue). So while ASI are looking into this issues, I am trying to work out if I can revert the shop back to a previous version - which display the products correctly.

So has anyone done anything like this before, and if so, how hard/easy is it?

processing payment but not saving transaction/order info

I am having an issue with an order payment process. I am sending the payment through iMIS and it is being charged in our PayPal account, but the payment is not being recorded in iMIS. The batch is generated, but keeps a $0 total and no product sale info is created. I have been researching it for many hours and cannot pinpoint the cause of my problem. If you have any ideas please share. Thank you. - JK
