The Control ID 'LoginUpdatePanel' requires a scriptmanager on the page error

Hi All

I have a client who was playing around with the master page file and now is getting this error. They are able to log into iMIS but get this error and they are unable use iMIS.

I have logged this issue with ASI (see below) but I have not been able to fix it. Have you seen this issue before? What is the best solution?

I am reluctant to change code, am I best of reinstalling imis 15.1.3.6699?

Regards

Mark

** ATSE Test Environment ***

We are implementing WCM at ATSE and have encountered the following error. This error is only visable on the server.

The control with ID 'LoginUpdatePanel' requires a scriptmanager on the page. The script mamager must appear before any control that need it.

How do we fix this issue.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

Looks like this error is caused by not updating the master file. The instructions for this are in the iMIS Reference iMIS e-Content Manager, 15.1.3 Production Release Word Doc starting on page 17 under the section titled "To modify master pages for iMIS 15.1 and later":

"If you are using e-CM alongside iMIS 15.1 and later releases, you must make some modifications to the master page of every existing ASP.NET website. These modifications ensure that the websites will work properly in the 15.1 environment (and later releases). It should be AM\ContentManagerNet\MasterPages"

You can download this document from our website at the following location:
http://docs.imis.com/15.1/index.asp?topic=/15.1/downloads.htm

Make sure to make a backup copy of your master page before editing it.

Thanks,
Nissi

Hi Mark,

After you have installed iMIS and eCM please find - AM\ContentManagerNet\MasterPages this is where you need to make the edits as per the docs.

Thanks,
Nissi

Hi Nissi

As this is a fresh install of imis. If we reinstall imis would this fix the issue?

Hi Mark,

I dont think that a reinstall will take care of this.
As the docs state:

In the iMIS Reference iMIS e-Content Manager, 15.1.3 Production Release Word Doc starting on page 17 under the section titled "To modify master pages for iMIS 15.1 and later":

"If you are using e-CM alongside iMIS 15.1 and later releases, you must make some modifications to the master page of every existing ASP.NET website. These modifications ensure that the websites will work properly in the 15.1 environment (and later releases). It should be AM\ContentManagerNet\MasterPages"

You can download this document from our website at the following location:
http://docs.imis.com/15.1/index.asp?topic=/15.1/downloads.htm

Make sure to make a backup copy of your master page before editing it.

You may want to post this question on imiscommunity.com to see how other resellers/consultants do this.

Thanks,
Nissi

Hi All After much

Hi All

After much consultation (internally) we decided to reinstall imis on the server and then restore Thursday nights backup of the database, run database repair utility and well everything worked. Thank goodness

Thanks to everyone who gave advice. This was much appreciated.

I think I need a good drink and a lie down now.

Please close this job
