off the heals of chris castle's blog about the Unified Login of iMIS15, I have successfully merged WSS3.0 (sharepoint services 3.0) and iMIS15 to have one Single Sign on
Background/History
Sharepoint services 2.0 (WSS 2.) comes FREE with Windows Server 2003.
WSS 2.0 only authentication provider is NT Authentication.
WSS 3.0 came out in November 2006.
WSS 3.0 comes FREE with windows Server 2003 (requires an upgrade)
WSS 3.0 accepts .NET Form Authenication
iMIS10 authentication is licease seats (SQL accounts)
iMIS15 accepts .NET Form Authenication
In a Nutshell
since WSS3.0 and iMIS15 both accept the same Form Authenication why not just marry them together to form one solid product??
Now what
My only debate now is if I should have my users adobt the IQA document lib or the Sharepoint Doc Lib? I will say that Sharepoint has more collorbration features such as comments, version control..etc that I don't see IQA having but that is not fair to me to say because I barely have used or even read up on IQA Doc Lib structure.
